Nominees for Secretary/Treasurer

The Secretary/Treasurer is a one-year appointment and serves as a member of the Executive Committee and on the Board of Directors.  Please review the nominees below and cast your ballot.  The results will be announced during the Chest Wall Injury Society Business Meeting at the 2018 CWISummit in Park City, Utah on Friday, March 2, 2018.
Adam J. Kaye, MD, FACS

Adam J. Kaye, MD, FACS

Dr. Adam Kaye earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. He completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and completed his surgical critical care fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospital / UMKC in Kansas City. He currently practices general and trauma surgery at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, an ACS verified Level II trauma center.

His interests include minimally invasive approaches for rib fracture repair and outcomes of delayed repair of rib fractures.

Chasen Croft

Chasen A. Croft, MD, FACS

Chasen Croft was born, raised, and educated in Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1999, and completed his General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care training at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He currently practices at the University of Florida College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Surgery within the Department of Surgery. He focused his initial clinical efforts on the care of the traumatically injured patient and surgical critical care. Dr. Croft also serves as the Associate Trauma Medical Director.

Ledford Powell

Ledford L. Powell, MD

Ledford Powell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery with a special interest in Thoracic Oncology and Minimally invasive thoracic Surgery. He completed his general surgery training at UC Irvine and thoracic surgery training at UC San Francisco.

He now practices at Hoag Hospital as part of the Lung Cancer program. He now serves as the physician director of the lung cancer screening program at Hoag hospital; his extensive experience with all types of cancers of the chest cavity and his unique approach to the surgical management of lung cancer allows patients increased access to surgical care.

Zachary M. Bauman, DO, MHA, FACOS, FACS

Zachary Bauman, DO, MHA

Zachary Bauman is an academic Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  He obtained his medical degree at Des Moines University and completed his general surgery residency and critical care fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.  He further completed a trauma fellowship at the University of Arizona.  Throughout his career, he has developed a strong interest in rib and sternal fixation, completing a variety of acute and delayed surgeries in this area.
