Pre-courses - Wednesday, April 23

The 2025 CWISummit will host two cadaveric labs running simultaneously at the Veranex Lab. Scrubs and protective gear will be provided for all participants.

Lunch will be served from 1200 - 1300. Lab time will run from 1300 - 1600.

Shuttle service will be available between The Westin Peachtree and the lab - or participants may travel from the airport or other locations on their own.

No other travel or expenses will be covered by the Chest Wall Injury Society as a result of participation.

Chest Wall Injury Stabilization Basics & Tools of the Trade

This cadaveric pre-course is hosted by the Chest Wall Injury Society as part of the 2025 CWISummit. It is focused on chest wall injury repair basics, as well as highlighting differences and characteristics of the featured surgical systems. It will include the opportunity for participants to rotate among stations utilizing multiple currently available chest wall injury surgical stabilization protheses.

Faculty members are experts from within the Chest Wall Injury Society who have been selected by the CWISummit Program Committee for their extensive clinical and teaching experience.

This course is a terrific opportunity for surgeons who are building their surgical skills in chest wall injury stabilization, as well as those surgeons who wish to explore and gain hands-on experience with additional systems.

**There is no registration fee for this course, however, space is EXTREMELY limited. Please do NOT register unless you plan to attend to be fair to other interested participants.**

Advanced Chest Wall Injury Stabilization Procedures

This cadaveric pre-course is hosted by the Chest Wall Injury Society as part of the 2025 CWISummit is focused on advanced chest wall injury stabilization procedures. This lab will include the opportunity for participants to rotate among multiple stations to practice all selected procedures, including:
1) optimal exposure of apical rib fractures 1-4
2) sternal fracture reduction and repair
3) costal margin injury repair
4) rib fracture localization + cryoneurolysis with ultrasound

Faculty members are experts from within the Chest Wall Injury Society who have been selected by the CWISummit Program Committee for their extensive clinical and teaching experience.

This course is a terrific opportunity for surgeons who have a solid understanding of basic chest wall injury stabilization methods and are looking to expand their skills in these specialty procedures.
